I grew up up in Colorado Springs, CO at the Air Force Academy. My love for makeup came at the early age of seven years old. By twelve years old I was doing my Mom, Aunts, and my Grandmother's hair and makeup. They were kind enough not to wash it off immediately!
Once I was old enough I went to Cosmetology school, graduated, and received my license. I found that I gravitated more towards estitics, makeup, and hair coloring. I did my first platform job at a Denver hair show. From there I began my bridal business.
I moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL in 1989. I was able to secure a freelance artist position for Borghese Cosmetics. From there, my bridal business took off again. The modeling industry was and is growing in Miami so I was able to secure a few modeling agencies as well.
The LGBTQ community gave me an incredible opportunity of working for several drag queens for their shows. To be able to transform a man into a beautiful woman was both a creative and fulfilling experience. Another learning experience for my craft.
Moving to New York in 1992 grew me as an artist and presented an array of fabulous opportunities. I had a friend in the fashion industry and was able to secure a position at New York Fashion Week, Editorial Work (Magazines), and more modeling agencies. Also expanding my wedding business and of course continued my freelance work with Lancome, Estee Lauder, Clinique, and Bobbi Brown cosmetic lines.
Moving back to Florida in 2002 brought about more education. Yes, I have traveled a lot and this move saw a significant amount more in my near future.
I continued freelancing for Lancome, doing weddings. and working with modeling agencies. My travels with the various modeling agencies took me to Los Angeles and Las Vegas. I was able to make it both for business and pleasure. Exploring the different areas has always been a bonus in my line of work. Therefore, I am available for travel worldwide with travel expenses of course!
I apprenticed for a special effects makeup artist on an independent film. Two weeks, fifteen hour days, and early call times and I did it for free! Here's the catch..It was basically a free education as well networking opportunities. Making friends with my fellow crew members and actors, my experiences went into more films, student films at the Miami University Film Department, and local commercials.
This is what led me to search for a good makeup school that only taught hair styling, up-do's, and makeup. Nothing else! Cosmetology schools rarely focus on skincare and makeup so I felt a need for a thorough education instead of just trying to "wing it". I'm forever grateful for my wonderful instructors Victoria Duke {Celebrity Artist), lRobin Basel (Makeup artist, stylist, and art production), and Erin Koplow (Makeup artist for the films "Something About Mary" and "The Water Boy"). Yes, I do know what was used for the hair gel scene with Cameron Diaz!
I attended Boca Beauty Academy to be an Estitician. I graduated with my license and worked at Miko's Salon. Now I can provide my clients with more services such as Microdermabraion, Chemical Peels, Spray Tanning, and waxing services.
I've since moved back to Colorado in the Denver area. I have my CO. Estitician's licnese and am well versed in all sanitation procedures and protocols for your safety. I'm available from Colorado Springs to Fort Collins and most surrounding areas.
I'm available for all your skincare, makeup, and hairstyling needs.
I look forward to being included in all of your special occasions.
